Third Cut is the Deepest

Greetings Again Squalorites:

We’ve had a weird and wonderful three months since we last hung out. Our contest is receiving submissions, good ones, so we’d like to encourage you to keep them coming, first and foremost. There’s nothing like reading a quality submission, and even more so when the stakes are high. What else? Oh yeah, Duotrope became a pay for use service this year, and so we’ve gotten better acquainted with Newpages, and we think you should, too. Our readership continues to expand beyond our wildest expectations, and, in turn, so does the volume and quality of the submissions we’ve been receiving. So much so that you’ll start to see and hear from a few new staff members over the upcoming weeks and months. Not naming names yet, but they’ll have their pictures up on the About page soon enough.

That aside, I feel like keeping a little quiet this time around. I’m incredibly humbled to be doing this well so early in the game. I hope we can keep it up and continue to release more quality literature while constantly working to improve our online reading format into infinity. A big thanks goes out to Robb Todd for conducting such an amazing interview with us for this issue. Be sure to check that out and follow the links therein.

It's all been pretty surreal and we promise to keep it rolling. Things to look out for next time include our (drumroll…sigh…finally!) adaptive site, and we’ll be announcing which pieces from the first four issues will make it into the print anthology, along with our contest winner. That’s for next issue, though. Right now, go read some of the excellent prose, poetry and art we've had the privilege of reading voraciously, crying over, laughing with and eventually bringing to your eyeballs.

Until Next Time, Keep Reading and Writing.
